National Centre for the Performing Arts
National Centre for the Performing Arts ( NCPA ), colloquially called " Egg " because of its shape. It is located west of
Tiananmen Square and Great Hall of the People and is located near the Forbidden City. It is a modern design, but background in
historic buildings that surround it. It was designed by French architect Paul Andreu : the emergence of the center was ellipsoid
dome of titanium and glass accent ; dome is completely surrounded by an artificial lake that looks like an egg on the water.
Dome 212 m from east to west and 144 meters north-south direction and 46 m in height. The main entrance is on the north side and
there are 3 large bedrooms inside the event : Opera Hall is used for opera, ballet and dance, a concert hall for a large symphony
and national music / folk and the public theater and Peking Opera.
Because open to use, has received many groups world-class performance and become a platform for exchange of international art.
